Peter Sutcliffe came to the attention of the police when he was linked to a string of murders between 1975 and 1980. He was dubbed the Yorkshire Ripper refereeing to his chosen victims since they were prostitutes. He was convicted of 13 murders on all and the attempted murder of seven other women. He was sexually sadistic serial killer in the ways that he chose to brutalize his victims during his attacks.
